Don't Sacrifice Too Much

There's many different types of neighborhoods in Dallas, so study up before you start viewing apartments.  Most renters will agree that prices in Dallas are in keeping with other metropolitan cities in the United States.  While there are some ultra luxurious areas, there are affordable properties throughout the city.  Our best advice is to speak with local area residents and ask them to recommend neighborhoods which are most likely to align with your needs, wants and budget.

Seriously, Do Your Research!

The Dallas Metro area is huge - so consider your commute when apartment shopping in Dallas. If you move outside of the city center, you may find a great condo, but you may find yourself spending more time in traffic than in your new home.  The public transit, DART, is expansive but notoriously slow. If you ultimately decide to move beyond the city center, you are well advised to find a place with parking too!

Be Prepared

Lots of people are moving to the area, so have proof of income and references ready when meeting with property managers and prospective landlords. Being prepared will set you apart from all the other potential tenants and allow you to present yourself as a professional.  Either way, the best advice is to stay positive and keep focused.  Know your limits and stay within them.  Use your good judgement and you are sure to find yourself a beautiful new home in this electric city sooner than you may first think.  From all of us, good luck with your apartment search and welcome to Dallas, Texas! #ApartmentLove
